In a conversation today, I learned that there are several hip hop heads who never listened to The Love Below Album. Just knowing that there would be no bars, left several in the community disappointed.  For many of us, this is the moment when Outkast was no longer Outkast, and Andre 3000 departed with a joyous smile on his face. Hey Ya!

In his defense, I’ll say he kept most of it dope though. It wasn’t bars, and he was no longer going too deep on us while he, ‘sang’.

However, this video was pretty deep.  The album wasn’t bad either but, this isn’t a album review …

Is Andre 3000 from this planet or nah?

When we first met Outkast, he was just Andre. But by the time Stankonia came out, he was Andre 3,000. We probably should have seen this coming. I’m not one to stomp on creative expression though. This is a video review. We’re giving this video 2 fists – for the message. In this video, he is basically telling us that he is not from this world. He came down and met a black woman, got her to love her natural hair, and decided to stay. The voice-over guy sounds a lot like the Architect from The Matrix, and so does this ‘alien’ race from the planet, Proto.

This was a departure for us though. We’ll have to come back and talk about what happened to him, Cee-Lo Green and more.  Like other rappers who once were great, and now all they really wanna do is sing, we (the community) hope he’ll drop an album on us. After a few sick features (like Solo, on Frank Ocean’s Blonde Album), there may be hope.

We just don’t wanna get our hopes up ‘too high’ …
