Artist: Sauce Walka
Track Name: Whoopty Doo (Young Thug Diss)
AH Track Rating:

Sauce Walka really slides on this beat, as he goes directly at Atlanta rapper Young Thug. Making mentions of the time he put a dress on for album covers. Talking about issues with his YSL crew, and all the snitching that allegedly occurred. Taking a moment from an interview Young Thug gave, where he spoke on the rumored incidents. Now, famously turned into a meme on social media, Whoopty Doo, being Thugs outlook on prison time.
Naturally, narratives like these, are often seen as white ownership on full display.
Using these black ‘artists’ from extremely impoverished conditions, like Atlanta, to promote negative concepts to the black community. So much discussion happened around this case, on whether or not it was ok, for rappers like Gunna, to ‘snitch’ for less prison time. Was it the right decision? Or is the message from young Thug the correct approach, even if you find yourself caught up in something life or career ending.
Whoopty Doo, is a rather careless way of looking at things – and Sauce Walka uses the moment wisely.
If you’re a rapper who understands the importance of relevancy in hip hop, you have a long career ahead of you. Sauce, takes this moment to address the fans, who are sleeping on real MC’s, with actual messages for our people. Instead too many are listening to, the buddy wearing a dress, promoting prison time. Real ones ain’t doin all that talking, or giving interviews. Sauce taking his time to point that out and paint that picture. Saying certain things, should disqualify you from having influence within our community.
Do Y’all agree that Sauce Walka deserved 4 lit flames for this?
